Noticing a decrease in viral posts filled with generic quotes and so called “success stories”?
We’ve observed the same trend.
This shift is due to LinkedIn altering its algorithm to prioritize more relevant content.
So, what type of content should you create in order to meet the algorithm’s criteria? Let’s delve into some of these changes 👇
1.Reduced exposure for “Facebook-like” content. For a while, LinkedIn was inundated with unprofessional content intended to manipulate the system.
However, such posts will no longer receive algorithmic rewards.
As a result, there has been a decline in Facebook-style posts and an increase in more professional, platform-specific content.
2. Priority given to “1st” connections. LinkedIn believes that the most valuable content should originate from first-degree connections, thus its feed now gives them precedence.
In simpler terms, you will see content that genuinely interests you, and the feed will be more customized and personalized.
3. Emphasis on expert content. Relevant and valuable content from industry leaders has gained importance.
LinkedIn’s algorithm now identifies “experts” based on user interests and activities, prioritizing meaningful and authentic comments and posts.
4. Enhanced visibility for opinions and advice. LinkedIn is now promoting content that shares unique opinions and advice, as they tend to generate more discussions.
So, it is advisable to create original content rather than simply reposting others’ work.
Also, utilizing your unique perspectives to initiate or facilitate conversations is encouraged.
Sounds promising, right? Just continue posting distinctive and relevant content, and the algorithm will reward you 🙌
